Gary Scott Saipe

I went to school with Gary at the Warren Elementary School, Bowen High and The University of Illinois. Many years later, while visiting Chicago on business I would occasionally, just by luck, bump into him on LaSalle Street. Although our visits were not frequent, I always felt like I was talking to an old friend. I know he will be missed. Alan Gingold

Gary was a truly “delightful, de’lovely” man. Not only talented, but supportive of other people’s talents. Always a kind word for others. Very proud of his family. He was taken too young and will be missed by all who knew him.

I remember a parents night for Freshmen at Libertyville High School for our sons. Gary had a draft play he was working on called “The Point Man.” He had it with him so he could capture any inspiration that might come during the events that night. It illustrated how he so loved theater and acting.

As kids, my brother and I were in a carpool with the Saipe’s and the Cohen’s for Sunday School at South Shore Temple. If I remember correctly, the Saipe’s had a checker marathon car which made getting all six carpooling kids in much easier. May Gary’s memory be for a blessing. Baruch Dayan ha-Emet.
